junior college history and athletic information
bossier parish community COLLEGE Bossier Parish Community College was established by a joint resolution of the Louisiana legislature and started off as a pilot program. The agreed purpose of the program was to determine if there was a need for, and feasibility of, establishing 2 year junior colleges within the state. Classes commenced at the school for the 1st time in the fall of 1967 with One hundred and one students and a faculty of 5 full-time and 3 part-time instructors. The name of the school was established as Bossier Parish Community College. In the fall of 1973, academic courses that were offered, which were expanded to both day and evening classes, now provided special courses that were designed for persons representing the business, military and industrial communities.
