Bluefield College is a private, Christ-orientated, liberal arts college situated in the picturesque mountains of southwestern Virginia. the University is renowned for its academic excellence and commitment to the integration of faith in learning.

Bluefield College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the college offers personalized instruction leading to baccalaureate degrees in Eighteen majors of study, including business, teacher education, criminal justice and theatre. The school's fully–approved, accelerated degree-completion program for adults offers degree opportunities across the state in organizational management and leadership, behavioral science and criminal justice.

BLUEFIELD COLLEGE ATHLETICS PROGRAM

The university fields 8 sports teams in its intercollegiate athletic program, including 4 for men (basketball, baseball, golf and soccer) and 4 for women softball, basketball, volleyball and soccer). The School also offers JV basketball. Women's and Men's basketball and volleyball games, are held on campus in the Dome Gymnasium.

The College is a charter member of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), which is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

It is interesting to note that wrestling was the third national championship sport established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. the other two sports were Swimming and track and Field. The first team championship was held in 1934.
