Biola University, established in 1908, is a private liberal arts university. It is located in La Mirada, California and is primarily an evangelical Christian institution that holds a conservative doctrine. The university offers undergraduate and graduate study programs, including 37 undergraduate majors and 145 professional programs. There are also doctoral degrees offered at Biola University. All academic programs are divided into the following schools: School of Education, School of Arts and Sciences, Crowell School of Business, Rosemead School of Psychology, Cook School of Intercultural Studies, and the Talbot School of Theology. In addition, all undergraduate students enroll in 30 hours of Bible classes to go along with their chose majors.

Athletics Department at Biola University

The Athletics Department at Biola University offer varsity sports and intramural athletic programs to student-athletes, as well as provide fitness opportunities through provision of athletic facilities. In addition, student-athletes are provided with support services such as athletic training and academic support to ensure that all students reach their full potential.

Athletics facilities at Biola University include the Chase Gymnasium for volleyball and basketball, the Al Barbour Field with a synthetic turf field for soccer, the Eagles Diamond for baseball, the Freedom Field for softball, the Lansing Aquatic Center, the Biola Tennis Center, and the Biola Fitness Center and Weight Room.

Athletic Programs at Bioloa University

The athletic programs at Biola University include men’s baseball, cross country, golf, basketball, swimming and diving, track and field, soccer, and tennis, as well as women’s basketball, track and field, cross country, volleyball, golf, swimming and diving, and tennis. There are also intramural sports opportunities that are either recreational or competitive. All teams are either men’s, women’s or co-ed and are offered on a seasonal basis. In the fall, sports offered are flag football, ultimate Frisbee and volleyball, while spring sports are sand volleyball, soccer, basketball and volleyball.

Official Sports Team: Eagles

The Biola University teams are collectively known as the Eagles. The Biola Eagles are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and compete in the Golden State Athletic Conference. The Eagles have a history or both athletic and academic success, with a foundation in strong individual leadership skills and team cooperation. The Eagles have graduated two Major League Baseball players.

Guide to Athletic Scholarships at Biola University

Scholarships at Biola University include opportunities for both freshmen and transfer students. There are 4 freshmen academic scholarships ranging in value from $7,000 to $12,000, as well as transfer student academic scholarships worth $2,500 to $7,500, and community service scholarships worth $5,000 for freshmen and $2,000 for transfer students. Other scholarships include the Alumni Dependent Scholarship, the LEAD Scholarship, the Church Matching Scholarship, the Biola Missionary Scholarship, as well as numerous departmental scholarships.
