BERGEN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Founded in 1965, Bergen Community College now enrolls more than Fourteen-thousand students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science degree and certificate programs.

More than ten-thousand students are enrolled in non-credit, professional development courses through the Division of Continuing Education. The Philip J. Ciarco Learning Center offers adult basic skills, English as a Second Language, non-credit, and credit courses.

Bergen Community College programs prepare students for transfer to 4 year universities universities or for immediate entry into the workforce. Since its inception, Bergen has offered open admissions, small classes, affordable tuition, dedicated faculty, outstanding student services, flexible scheduling, and a student centered campus.

2004-2005 Athletic Accomplishments

Track and Field: Steven McGovern was the 2005 NJCAA Division III athlete of the week in discus on April 26th, 2005! Thatcha DaCosta received Outstanding Female Student Athlete from the State of New Jersey's 13th annual celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Thatcha was also honored on Sunday Feb. 13th at Seton Hall University.

Softball: The team completed the 2005 season with a deceiving 7-19 record. The team participated in the GSAC play-offs for the first time in ten years. Congratulations to Stephanie Saunders and Crystal Youmans whom received 2nd team GSAC and Region XIX honors, while Liz Terry earned 2nd team GSAC honors. Liz was ranked 16th nationally and 6th in Region XIX @ .708 stikeouts per inning, while Stephanie ranked 6th nationally and 2nd in Region XIX with a batting average of .527. 

Golf: Bergen's Golf Team is currently ranked 8th in the Nation NJCAA DIV III with a season record of 26-4 and place 2nd in the GSAC. The team competed in 4 tournaments this season. They placed first in the Bulington Tournament and placed 2nd in the Brookdale and Raritan Tournaments. In the Union Tournament the team took 3rd. On May 4th the team will be competing in the GSAC/Region 19 Tournament in High Bridge Hills, NJ. June 9-10 the Regional Tournament held in Ocean City, MD. Congratulations to Garbo, Lee, and Crawford for making the All GSAC Golf Team.
