3. Tiger Woods
this Stanford University stand out has became a historical figure in
golf. He has won fifty seven PGA wins, that included twelve Majors, there are only
2
other players in golfing history worth mentioning in the same breath with
Tiger Woods. They are of course Bobby Jones and Jack Nicklaus . Jack Nicklaus
is the all-time stand out in terms of wins with seventy three PGA wins and
eighteen
Majors. you need to bear in mind here that he played for twenty four years. Tiger
Woods has only been playing for
eleven years. Woods has plenty of time to catch up. As far as Bobby Jones is
concerned, even though he was the most outstanding golfer of his time,
he only played within the amateur ranks, playing for the enjoyment
of the game. Without
a doubt, over the past decade, Tiger Woods has been simply without
peer.
2. Tim Duncan
Tim Duncan has cemented
his spot as the quintessential power forward in the game. He has
technically-perfect footwork,
overpowering defense and his flashy
bank shots, he is tough to handle even if double teamed.
1. Roger Federer
Federer's statistics are impressive. A thirty one match winning streak at Wimbledon.
Seven
straight major tournament finals victories. Three straight Wimbledon and
three straight US Open championships. he is the only player ever to win a major
tournament without losing a set. He is simply the best tennis player
of all time. He has been the
number one player in the world for five years in succession.
Here is my choice. A swimmer who is more well known in Australia
than he is at home. Michael Phelps.
Read this and learn. For starters when he was fifteen years
old, he broke the world record for the two hundred meter butterfly,
this made
him the youngest swimmer in history to hold a world record. 2 years later, he broke another world record
when he became the
fastest man to ever swim the four hundred meter individual medley.
At the 2004 Sydney Olympic
Games, he became the 1st swimmer to win eight medals, a feat which has
been matched only by the Russian Gymnast, Alexander Dityatin. During
the Sydney games, Phelps set records in almost every event in which he
swam. Since 2001, he has never finished below 3rd in any
major swimming competition, in any event. He still holds six world records.
his outstanding performances not only solidify him as the most dominant
swimmer of the modern era, but raises the question as to whether he is the
greatest swimmer of all time. Furthermore, he is still very young. He
still has
the chance to take out eight more medals at the Beijing Olympic games. Simply
put, no one can beat this guy. He is without a doubt the most dominant
athlete in the world at the present moment and is likely to hold
onto this status for many years to come.
Be strong in body, clean in mind, lofty in ideals.
