the PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES BY CODY LADD, NODAWAY VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL,
GREENFIELD ia.
Many people think of professional sports as a way
to get rich and become famous. Not only do fans and young athletes
think this way but many of the professionals seem to feel that way.
Many of today’s professional athletes show off their money with very
expensive items purchased with the income made from their job.
I personally would rather watch most college
sports because almost all of the players are playing because they
love the sport they are in. That doesn’t necessarily mean the pro’s
don’t love what they do but college athletes play for their team
with true heart, not for the fame or the cash. Their attitudes may
change once they enter the next level of play. For many, the fame
and fortune get the best of them, but there are always the select
few that don’t let either of those things decide who they are.
To me, football is the worst of all sports when it
comes to these changes of the athletes. There are a lot of football
players that will do anything to be the most well known player out
there. All the way from things like changing their appearance to
showboating after good plays. Some even think that just because they
are a professional athlete and make millions of dollars a year, that
they can get away with illegal acts. As we all know, most of them
get caught and serve a punishment for their actions, but it still
doesn’t get through to some people. Some of those athletes that get
in trouble once, get in trouble numerous times after that. |
