STROKES BY ANNIE MCKENNA We move as one, eight rowers rhythmically pulling the 210 pound boat through the water, wrenching our muscles as we slash at the lake. For six months, I have spent two and a half hours, five days a week, at crew practice, building up my strength. Point Park College athletics aims to provide a quality academic and athletic experience for each of their student-athletes. One of the primary advantages of attending a smaller school like Point Park is the opportunity for student-athletes to receive personalized attention from coaches. If you need to improve your individual technical skills or lower your erg score then a college rowing or crew camp could be the way to go. Women's rowing is a college sport that requires a large team, this means that the sport can command up to twenty athletic scholarships per school. this is the largest number of scholarships available for any women's sport in the NCAA. Shawnee State is the only public university in Ohio located on the banks of the Ohio River. |
