Proud to be a trojan by j.t. livingston, wilson high school portland
oregon.
I was inspired to write this as an attempt to show
my mother the bond and devotion that we feel among the players on
the football team.
The football team is a family like no other. We fought through hell
week with each other and pushed each other and encouraged each other
when I didn’t know if I could even do it. But at a certain point I
realized that I could accomplish great things because the 80+ guys
around me wouldn’t let me accomplish anything less. We all know that
there is a brother-ship among us.
We love each other and would fight for any single
person on the team. If I got a call from any single person on the
team at three in the morning saying “I need you now.” I would be
there now; without question. Because of this, there was no possible
way that on a Friday night I would be anywhere else than in the
stadium supporting my family. There is no force that could stop me
from being there for my family. My car runs out of gas; I walk. My
legs break; I crawl. Coach MacDicken talks about those who fight and
those who are fighters. Those who fight are those who start to back
away when they get punched in the face one too many times.
