Football an incredibly intense game, that pushes you to your limit.
A game for strength and skill, it might look like a bunch of guys
just hurting each other just for kicks, way wrong it’s a way of
life! A football player must think about where to run to, where to
throw the ball, and how to just make it to the other side.
This game of much pain, meant a lot for me, I do not play as much as I use to. Although during my sophomore year, I had gone to my second high school, planning on playing for the school team, then I moved and wasn’t so into my new school; and ended up not playing for the school after all. The school was called El’ Dorado High School, it was a little on the ghetto side, but that really didn’t bug me. Well a new school meant new friends, new classes, and a new P.E. class. Once, getting to P.E. I noticed that students where playing football, not just football, but full out tackle football, no protection just football. So I decided to play hoping I would be good at it, and hoping to God they wouldn’t kill me. |

The first time I played with them was an experience I would never forget. At the time I had braces, well after a few plays no one would pass me the ball, not knowing if I would catch it, so I demanded it after the fourth down, so the opposing team was receiving the ball. Not being so great at kicking the ball, I just threw it, well it didn’t go so far, went maybe 20 yards right in the hands of some one in the opposing front line. So I ran as fast as I possibly could and tackled the person with the ball with all my strength, and miraculously, the person fumbled it and I recovered it. I jumped up and went for a victory taunt, although when I went to move my lips, they where stuck to my braces. |
Well every one was surprised, and gave me respect for the play, but I had to leave school and go to my orthodontist and get my braces out of my gums. It was such an adrenalin rush I never felt before and then the following day at school all the football players of 5th period P.E. where talking to me about the day before. I felt pretty good, about the whole situation, and continued to play football everyday during 5th period. I was great at it, and gained the nick name “Speede”. Playing the sport kept me occupied, and out of trouble, I also started playing football, on Fridays after school, with my older brother and a couple of friends.
I love football, lately I have not played for a while, just focusing on school, but I do not regret any moment of pain, because there is about three times more, spectacular moments. Also this great game got me into incredible shape, and made me extremely healthy, that whole year I played I got sick no more than three times and each time was no longer than one day. The game of football made my sophomore year, my most favorite year of high school.

The game is played by 2 opposing teams of 11. The football field is level, measures 100 by 53 1-3 yd (91.4 by 48.8 m),it is divided off by lateral stripes every 5 yd (4.57 m) and has at each end an end zone 10 yd (9.14 m) deep. Football rules.
My Frightening Experience It was Friday night, I didn’t have a football game that night because it was our bye week, but the coach had asked some of use to go watch the Shepherd and Woodville game. It was important to go because we played Woodville next week and Shepherd was our first district game. I don’t remember much of the game other than Woodville won by a lot, but what would happen after the game I will never forget.
