ANDREW COLLEGE

The Charter of Andrew College, granted in 1854 by the Georgia Legislature, is the 2nd oldest charter in the USA giving an educational institution the right to confer degrees upon women.
Originally named Andrew Female College, Andrew operated as a women’s 4-year college for sixty three years. In 1917 Andrew became a junior college and in 1956 the school became co-educational.

  • Andrew College is a private, 2-year, liberal arts college related to The United Methodist Church.
  • There are about 350 students on a forty-acre campus.
  • Over 90% of the students live in campus residence halls.
  • The college offers academic, fine arts, athletic and servant leadership scholarships.

    The core curriculum parallels that of 4-year universities and colleges.

    The school offers 7 competitive athletic teams: men's and women's soccer, women's fast pitch softball, men's and women's cross country and men's baseball and golf.

    Andrew College athletic teams compete in Region XVII of the National Junior College Athletic Association and in the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association.

    Students get involved in intramurals, clubs and organizations, campus activities, and various leadership initiatives. Andrew College offers excellent fine and performing arts programs, including Art, Drama/Theatre, Chorus, and Piano.

    Maintaining good health prevents the acceleration of the aging process. Conditions such as hypertension and diabetes should be aggressively controlled with lifestyle and drugs, if necessary.

    A Perception Of success by Sarah Levine. Gradually, I began to see the benefits of swimming, the least of which being I could beat everyone in my gym class at sharks and minnows. I grew more confident as I progressed, and realized that it’s not all about winning; that the only records that really matter are personal records.

    Two A Days, By Anthony Maule. Playing football and going through two a days has helped me to mature from an young and undisciplined freshman into a motivated senior who is driven to succeed.

    Xavier University sponsors eight NCAA college sports for women, and eight sports for men. Xavier has a graduation rate of 94% which is the third highest graduation rate for student-athletes in the USA behind Stanford and Duke universities.

    Passion For Softball by Jenna Alvarado. With my coach of a dad, a teammate of a sister, and a supporter of a mom, I found myself falling in love with softball more and more each time I knotted my cleats and picked up that glove.
